Parent, start off with these 5 activities to do with your kid to help them create clarity around how they could be entrepreneurial.
The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the late Mrs Ruth Bancroft’s exceptional garden and to educate the public about garden design, water conservation and California’s drought-tolerant native plants.
Teaching Entrepreneurship to Kids Opportunity
Water conservation is a huge concern in California. Make a family outing to the Ruth Bancroft Garden. When you are there, ask your child to think about how he or she can use the resources that are available in the Ruth Bancroft Garden to lessen or solve some of the water conservation issues that residents face. Whenever there is a problem, there is a potential business opportunity!
Entrepreneurship Ideas for Kids
Ask your child if he or she would be interested in starting his or her own mini-plant farm. Could he or she multiply the plants and then sell them later?
Questions you could ask:
- Analyze which plants won’t require a lot of water to maintain its growth?
- Which plants might be popular for sale- why? Consider factors such as how they look, how much space they take up, how much care they might need, ease of transportation, how long they tend to last for.
- Who would you sell the plants to?
- How could you sell the plants?
- Would there be any organizations interested in supporting your child’s business?
